I woke up today and sent my son to a leadership seminar near Bukit Jalil. It was about a 30 minute drive on a clear traffic Saturday. My car has been leaking something in the parking lot these past few weeks. I decided to get them checked today at my usual workshop in section 7, Bangi. At first I heard it was like 130 ringgit but upon confirmation, it will cost me 1,130 ringgit to disassemble the gearbox and fix the leak. Naturally I don't have that kind of money lying around so it will have to wait until next month. What's happening next month? It's August and you know what usually happens in August? We'll see. Also, I'm totally going to get a second opinion. 1k to fix a leak is a bit much in my opinion.
This week, I cancelled my Netflix subscription. I've been paying them since 2017, shared amongst 4 of my online friends. When Netflix decided that we can't share our accounts anymore, we decided to call it quits. Well. at least I quit. Technically, we can still share logins, but they made it as annoying as possible by making us click a link and enter a one time code almost every week or when using a new device. Can I live without Netflix? Absolutely. Their shows have been deteriorating in quality anyway these past few years. Lately I only have 2-3 max shows or movies on my watch list. Also, I found a website that offers Netflix shows and more for free. My wife? She's been complaining, but I'm sure she'll survive.
It's Steam Summer Sale season and FIFA 23 which was in my wish list is discounted to under 60 ringgits. My work M2 MacBook Pro and my own M1 Mac Mini should be capable of running FIFA 23, had EA made a Mac version for it, but they did not and have no plans to. Thinking that my old Surface Laptop 3 would be capable of running them, I jumped the gun and bought the Steam version. It did not get past the launch screen. Thank god I can get refunds easily via Steam. It's funny because I almost forgot I actually have a PS4 already at home. I looked at the PS4 version of FIFA 23, and it's discounted to the same price as the Steam version. That's how I spent my entire Saturday, playing FIFA 23 on my Playstation. Ideally I wish I could play it on my Switch, but the Switch version of FIFA sucks balls. I just realized that when I played FIFA 23 via EA Play recently on the Steam Deck. Guess I don't need to buy that Xbox after all. I don't play many games but when I do they usually are Football Manager, FIFA and a world-building/capitalism game
