Today is my friend's/classmate Saiful Nizam's wedding day. As we are quite close in class, I simply had to go to his wedding which is incidentally our first wedding invitation for this year. It rained today from morning till the evening. That of course didn't stop us from going to the wedding.

We left home around 2:00 in the afternoon. About a mile from home, I forgot to bring my camera with me. So we turned back to pick up the camera. Then halfway through the journey, Adam had a bad tummy ache and he accidentally soiled his pants. We had to stop at Tesco Extra near Cheras to buy him a new pair of pants. By that time it was already 3 o' clock. Since it is raining today, traffic condition along MRR2 was as bad as a regular work day. It took as an hour to get to Batu Caves. When we finally made it there it was already 4:15 PM and the caterers wasted no time packing their stuff to go home. Well, at least we did get to see the bride and the groom. He was sorry that we missed the food but I told him we'd be surprised if we didn't. In the end we detoured to Pantai Dalam and had nasi lemak at Warung Rindu. Congratulations to my friend Saiful Nizam. Don't stay up too late ya tonight!

Have you ever like known a person online for ages already but never really had the chance to meet him or her alive in the real world? Well, I did with Kak Tin until this morning. She sent out a distress signal for me to save her PC which is dying of blue screen of death. That's the first time I get to see her in person.

Kak Tin lives with her husband and 4 lovely children in an apartment in Petaling Utama. I only get to see Najihah & Fatihah today and the equally famous Mr Nahar who seemed to missing a lot. Anyway the problem with her PC, I suspect is all the dusts collecting inside the PC, blocking the air ventilation causing the motherboard or processor to overheat hence the blue screen. It might be also the out of date Kapersky antivirus which caused the bad pool header BSOD or maybe because some bad drivers that needs reinstalling or updating. I cleaned up all the dusts, deleted 8 viruses and 5 malwares using McAfee and removed all unnecessary programs from startup. Her Dell Inspiron PC now boots up in less than a minute and shutdowns in 15 seconds. That's something if you're using Windows Vista.

I hope her PC is okay now. If it still doesn't the final recourse would be to perform a clean install (format). Although I still thinks buffets for any occasion is a huge waste of money and food, if somebody treats us with one and we don't have to spend a penny, bring it on!

This year another one of our kind supplier treated us for break fast at Hilton Hotel Petaling Jaya. Some 20 of us braved the mad rush hour traffic to get to the hotel this evening. The food at PJ Hilton is quite good I must say. A refreshing change from IOI Mariott hotel that we've been going to these past 3 years or so. I must recommend this hotel if you got money to burn. Thanks again supplier!

Last week my friend Bujal was admitted to the hospital for a little appendix operation. I didn't get to visit him until his last day there. Said he lost 3 kilos because the food there was horrible.

Of all places, Bujal chose the new and expensive Columbia Asia Hospital in Puchong. The final bill was about 10K RM for less than a week stay and still he has to pay 500 RM with his own money for the services fees before he left. Of course he can claim that back from MAA but that kinda sucks nevertheless. I hope I don't have to go into any hospitals while covered with MAA.

Once every new moon, some of my colleagues and I will be involved in moving IT stuff from somebodies office. Today is one of those day where we packed and moved a couple dozen of PCs, servers, UPS and stuff from Bukit Jelutong to Glenmarie both in Shah Alam.

Although both offices is not too far apart but the preparation and worked needed to transfer and re-setup a data center is enormous. You have to shutdown everything, pack and organize them carefully, move them to the new place and re-organize and reinstall everything until they are all up and running without a glitch. This exercise is usually done during weekends, after office hours so not to interrupt other people's work. And usually it will take at least 24 hours or more. This year's exercise for example to nearly 36 hours.

It was a lot of ,work and staying up until 3 to 4 o' clock in the morning is no easy feat but we didn't complain even when we look like zombies and had to sleep on the cold hard floor afterwards. . We just do our job that is entrusted to us and enjoy each other's company. And since many hands make the work lighter, at the end of the day we finished our task successfully.

Today is the Wear-A-Gorilla-Suit Day where people all around the world don the gorilla suit to work, school or wherever to celebrate the big, beautiful primate. Today is also incidentally my colleague's Nadia birthday. Usually we don't give a hoot about anybody's birthday round here but since Nadia is cute and single and she has a few dozen BFFs (Best Friend Forever and Ever), they've decided to throw a surprise birthday party for her this afternoon.

Yes I am jealous because nobody threw me a party on my last birthday. I realise I'm not cute or single or likable. Well, at least I get to eat that delicious blueberry cheesecake and the super-yummy imaginary Domino's pizza that Bujal bought (yeah thanks a lot Bujal). When I was 24 I was already married so Nad, if Rahman hasn't brought you to meet his parent already then it's about time he does.

Today is my colleague Ashraf's wedding with his fiancee Aishah. I didn't go to their first wedding ceremony in iPoh last week so I felt obliged to go to this one in downtown KL.

We got there around 3:30PM where the bride and groom were about to leave the venue. Still I managed to congratulate him and snap some pictures before they left. They looked so handsome and dashing in their blue wedding dress. Although it looked a lot like my baju raya this year, Ashraf didn't borrow them from me - for the record.

My wife thought the food catered at this wedding was marvelous. I'm just so hungry today so I finished a full plate.

Just a tiny bit of complaint though. Whoever drew the map to the wedding location is FAIL big time. Although the venue is located right smack in the middle of KL, I managed to get lost for almost an hour. Yes I saw 2 schools in the map but which school? I also saw 2 commuter stations there but what's their name? Which Tesco Extra is that? Whoever knows where the heck Sungai Mas Plaza and Crystal Crown Hotel are?

That said, I would like to congratulate Ashraf and Aishah for their wedding. May you guys live happily ever after. Take it easy tonight ya.

Tomorrow is our good friend, Manesa's wedding but we wouldn't make it because we will be going back home to Tanah Merah around the same time tomorrow. So we've decided to drop by her house today instead to visit.

We've known Manesa for almost a decade now, way back since our McDonald's crew days in the year 2000. She has been a really good friend, kind, funny and really easy-going.

We're so sorry we couldn't make it to your wedding tomorrow Adik. We can only wish and hope that you'll have a lovely wedding and live happily ever after with the lucky guy, Muhammad Zaidi. Congrats babe!

I woke up around 5:00 AM today meaning to do some last minute revision which I did. The thing is I kept glancing at the clock to see how much time I have left which instead created a sense of urgency and panic of some sort. Unlike some of the other papers that I sit for this semester, we didn't get any spot questions or real hints from our lecturer on this one. So basically we had to study and remember everything in the text book for the 3 hours paper.

Although I arrived an hour early for the exam, I can only continue reading for the first 30 minutes or so because I get rather distracted by the noise and the crowd building up around the hall. Most of my classmates were there, some opted to take their exams at UiTM branches elsewhere and one or two didn't show up again after the first class.

3 hours paper but most of us were finished before the 2 hours mark. I think only about 2 people stayed the duration of the 3 hours. If they didn't get full bloody marks then I don't know what the heck are they doing in there for the full 3 hours.

Now today is finally the end of the semester. When we first met, we were complete strangers but today a couple of months later it's like we've known each other for years, all thanks to Facebook. Some people call it the Jewish proxy for world domination or the easy way for Big Brother to watch on you but we can all agree on one thing, it did what it meant to do really well, connect people, family and friends. And surely that can't be a bad thing right?

So one semester down and only 7 more to go. See you guys all next year okay?

Since we didn't go to my colleague's wedding in Kuantan last week, we felt obliged to go to her wedding today in Bangi. I think we came a little bit early at 12:30 PM because most of my colleagues were not there yet.

And we waited over an hour to see the bride and groom but they were no where to be found. Perhaps they're preoccupied with other things. Still, it's their wedding and who am I to complain? Anyway, congratulations to you Niza.

Last week an old friend from my bachelor days called. Said he wanted to meet up so that I can do some questionnaires for him. I was quite busy all last week so only today I had the chance to meet up with him. If he really wanted me to do the questionnaire, he can easily email me the questions. So I suspected that he had some ulterior motive.

True enough after answering some questions regarding my income and savings, he went into a lengthy detail about this insurance product. Ah, I thought so. But since he's an old friend and he didn't exactly persuade or force me to buy the product I just went along with the interview. Of course I didn't sign up for anything in the end. I think he just wasted lunch and an hour on me. Sorry man, I'm a little bit tight with my budget right now. But that Prudential health care that you explained did sound quite interesting. Who knows maybe in the future when I'm a little bit better off. If I ever want to buy insurance, your name will first come up in my mind for sure.

Still it's nice to catch up with an old friend and find out how the rest of them is doing right now.

Call me anti-social but I have this minor aversion to going to weddings and open houses and similar events. But then whenever friends or a relative invites me to their functions and ceremonies, chances are I won't let them down. Let's face it, going to social functions like this is part and parcel of living in a society. So unless I go and move into a cave in a jungle somewhere, I have to cope with such activities.

Besides one day when I myself organize such event, I will be hoping that people will come. And in order for that to happen, you'll need to do them a favour by attending their events in the first place. Which explains why I brought my family to 3 open house functions today.

First stop today was Linda's friend's place in Gombak. We left our home around 12:00 and after a few detours and a bad traffic jam later, we arrived at Suzen's place around 1:00 o'clock. Next we headed towards Subang to visit a relative's house. Actually they were planning to hold an open house event tomorrow but since I won't make it then, we decided to pay a visit today instead. Around 5:30 PM we finally made it to our mutual friend, Masitah's place in Kerinchi. Tired and full, we only returned home around 7:00 PM.

So that concludes our open house call for this year. Thank God the Raya month ends next week.

Today I went to my last class for this semester. How time flies. After this there will be no more classes to attend but we will be sitting for our final exam in a couple of weeks. The class started at 8:30AM as usual and it didn't end until around 6:00PM.

After class, I went straight to LCCT to pick up my parent in law who just got back from my sister in law's graduation in Sabah. Around 8:00 I went to a neighbour's open house just 2 doors away. I didn't get the chance to talk to him before so tonight was a good time to start. He lived with her wife and little daughter there and he worked in UPM university nearby. And he bought the house for just 130K although he must have spent at least another 10 grand for renovation.

Then we went to Nusaputra between Puchong and Cyberjaya to visit another friend's open house. Maybe because it's night time but I got lost somwhere near Selangor Science Park. Our host had to 'rescue' us from the pitch darkness.

Nora and her family lives in a gated and secured housing area called Nusaputra. We had to register our name at the guard's house before entering. Coming into Nora's house is like visiting an IKEA showroom. I mean they bought most of their furniture and home furnishing from there. And I thought I was a big fan! Nora is even better. She's like their number 1 most important customer now.

We ate and hang around for about an hour before making our way. Nora must be really tired attending guests from afternoon till late in the evening. Before leaving she told us the great news about her upcoming baby. Congrats! Looks like I can stop bugging you about Nana's little brother/sister now eh? ;)

After leaving her place, my wife went into one of her house-buying frenzy mode again. She nagged me to buy just about every single house ads she saw. Yes darling, I can buy you a 400K house also. I"ll drop by Courts Mammoth tomorrow to buy one.

Today we visited our good friend Yusmani at her home in Putrajaya. We haven't got the chance to see her yet ever since she got her first child last year.

This is Irfan her 5 months old first born. His dad is hardly ever around because he works for the MACC (jeng jeng jeng!).

So this is life at a government quarters in Putrajaya like. Quiet nice. Don't mind living here with my own family someday.

Today is my colleague's Syamsurizal's wedding. Coincidentally the wedding is in Ampang albeit slightly further away. Unlike yesterday, I didn't get lost today because I used Google Maps on my phone.

We arrived just when the bride and the groom is finished sitting on the wedding dais. I didn't get to see my Syam much because he was too busy changing clothes.

A lot of my colleagues from the office was here.

Including former colleagues like Zakiah Hanum here who is as thin as stick ever.

We had to leave early because we can't stand to listen to this crazy lady singing. Where did she came from? I didn't see any mental hospital nearby. And why did they have to turn up the speaker's volume so freaking loud? I said it before and I'll say it again, karaokes ought to be banned from all future weddings. It's really annoying and it's not our culture.

It's the annual mating season again. We went to our first wedding ceremony today. Tomorrow's another one.

It was our good friend Khairunisa sister's wedding. Although we've been to her house twice already, we still managed to get lost a bit there at the Ampang area.

It's time to catch up with other friends too. Some got married, some stayed single.

This is the best wedding food I've sampled this year. The fried chicken, beef and mutton rendang and the nasi minyak were simply marvelous! Anyway congrats to you Aziatul Nureen and your husband.
