Help, our child has been kidnapped!

Actually my parent in law came by this weekend and swiftly took away Mia back home to Tanah Merah. We didn't have the heart to say no despite the fact that we already paid her kindy fees. Perhaps when we are older we might just pull something like this on our future grandchild, who knows.

Thing is we're definitely going to miss that little rascal. In fact we miss her already now :(

Time to plot a plan to take her back immediately.

You know your 3 years old daughter has grown up a bit when she started to wear her mom's make up and dress up regularly with her new dresses.

Next thing you know she'll be asking for a mobile phone.

Today like any other public holiday throughout the year, I decided to do the most productive thing I can that is stay at home and clean the house. I don't usually go to shopping malls or public places unless it is absolutely necessary.

There's some get together and potluck dinner at my apartment tonight but Mia is not feeling well so we decided to skip this one. She threw up three times this evening, once in the car. The doctor said she had a temperature and a fever. Poor girl. She didn't even play her favorite game Fruit Ninja today.

By the way, from today onwards I won't be using my 017 3487709 number anymore. You guys can contact me at my other 019 number. I kept getting my calls barred using that number because I can't seem to pay my bills on time. My payment schedule had been erratic these past few months. Anyway, you should get a text from me with the new number by now.

This school holiday we've decided to let the kids spend some quality time with their grandparent back home in Tanah Merah. Although my home town is actually in Pasir Mas but we send them back just to Tanah Merah because there's nobody to look after them in Pasir Mas. My little sister has very little experience with children and my grandma would not have the energy left to tend to those kids.

In Tanah Merah however, they've got their aunts and other grandparent whose more than willing to look after them for the next few weeks or so. We took the train to Tanah Merah on Friday and return home by bus yesterday. My wife was already teary eyed and crying at the bus station, on the bus and also when she returns home to find our empty apartment. Duh, whose idea is it in the first place? I have the feelings the kids would be home really soon.

Yesterday Muslims all over the world started to observe fasting in the holy month of Ramadan, my family not excluded. Maybe he's a little bit excited but Adam said he wanted to fast too, just like his Mom and Pop. So we said, "then you'll have to wake up for sahur early in the morning". And so he did. Woke up around 5:00 AM yesterday to eat with us. Mia who happens to wake up as well, joined us.

So later in the evening I asked, "Did you eat or drink anything today, Adam?". And he said "No I didn't eat at all! Except for a drink when I was so thirsty". Later when pressed on by his mother he finally said "okay la maybe I ate a couple of biscuits in the afternoon, but that's all!". Well, we didn't expect you to succeed fasting on the first day anyway. We'd be surprised if you did. You willingness to begin fasting is good enough. You're only 6 years old by the way. It's a good start.

My 2 years plus daughter is addicted to sweets! There isn't a day gone by without her asking for some. First thing she'll ask when she met her Mom or Dad is for some 'lert' (chocolate/sweets). And if we didn't give her she would almost always threw a tantrum.

If she keeps up like this, she'll lose all her beautiful teeth in a couple of months. What to do?

Mia Ariana, cute, sweet and totally adorable. However she has this bad habit where she likes to suck her two middle fingers all the time. We tried to stop her from doing that but she just kept sucking her fingers once we looked away.

Today one of her nails totally fell off exposing the skin underneath it. Needless to say she finds it really painful because she will cry whenever she absent-mindedly sucked on her fingers again. We had to wrap her finger in a bandage and put on band aids during the day from now on. How do you stop your little ones from sucking their fingers?

They put her in an isolation room on the 5th floor of the KPJ Kajang Specialist hospital. This room costs a cool 200 ringgit per day and Linda's health benefits will only cover up to RM160 so we had to top up the remaining cost. Now would be a really good time to get a bonus from my employer.

My Mom came to visit Mia later this afternoon. Adam and I spent the night at her place last night because there was a water cut at my area yesterday.

Mia is still her unusual self. She's so quiet and passive and she always make her mother carry her around and refuses to lay on the bed. They put her on IV drip because she's so weak from not eating much these past few days.

I have an assignment to finish and 4 papers to sit for my mid term exam tomorrow. I barely read anything because Mia kept us awake all last week And I've got like this evening to finish them all. Sigh.

My 1 and a half year old daughter got chicken pox earlier this week. My wife had no choice but to take a leave from work to look after her at home since we can't send her to the nursery. Since she got the disease, Mia drastically lost her appetite, is very moody and sensitive and she's got a constantly high temperature.

We took her to the clinic twice this week and on the second visit the doctor advised that we take her to he hospital for further check up. So we brought her to the KPJ Kajang Specialist Hospital tonight and the doctor there said Mia had to be warded because of her high temperature and dehydration.

Poor Mia. She didnn't eat anything much, including her formula and she hardly moves at all. She just lay there staring blankly at us or the ceiling.

So for tonight and the next few days, Linda will be staying at the hospital with Mia. Let us pray the she'll recover soon.

Although it's public holiday in Selangor, it is work as usual in KL and many other states in Malaysia. I don't want to bore you with the details of my suffering at home alone with the kids. Let's just say that I barely got an hour of rest at home today.
The highlight of the day is when I found out my 1.5 years old girl got chicken pox. We thought it was just a regular rash or something but the doctor confirmed it is the dreaded chicken pox. Obviously we can't send her to the nursery anymore so somebody has to take care of her from tomorrow onwards. I wish I could offer myself for that but unfortunately I'm overwhelmed with work at the moment.

As of now, Mia started to have boils all over her body and she started to scratch here and there. Her brother Adam only had smallpox before once so there's a chance of him catching the disease also if we're not careful. You be strong now Mia.

Some time ago, I thought raising a girl would be much easier. They'd probably be much more mild-mannered and they would actually listen to you. WRONG! Childrens, girl or boy are exactly the SAME! They never listen to you, they did everything you told them NOT to do, they throw tantrums and they cry a lot, like every day.

Maybe Mia is still very young and she didn't really understand what we said to her. Yeah her face does change when we scold her but only for a minute or so. After that she would continue doing her stuff - climb up the stairs, sofa, chairs, coffee and dining table, grill door, pretty much everything. And she's very clingy to her Mom. She will cry (for attention) whenever her Mom's around and she won't leave her in peace. She doesn't want me, she wants her Mom and her only. Okay, no more kids until they're all grown up.
